Latona Music was established in 1984 as a publishing business for the distribution of the music of Scottish composer and arranger Derick Kirkwood.
Derick Kirkwood is a highly regarded and respected trombonist who has played for many of the UK's finest brass and military bands. Derick first started his music career at the age of ten, winning many local and national talent competitions before tuition began under the baton of Mr Hugh Johnstone MBE. Derick is currently prinicipal trombonist with Dalmellington Band and forms part of the lineup of That Swing Sensation.
As a composer and arranger, Derick not only writes for brass bands, but also for clarinet choirs, saxophones and wind ensembles.
